SWA announced ‘Script Lab 2022’ back in September 2021 for feature-length screenplays, both original as well as literary adaptations.
Screenwriters Association has revealed the names of top six winning scripts of ‘Script Lab 2022’. Script Lab is an initiative by SWA to provide a platform to emerging screenwriters. It provides them an opportunity to be mentored by professionals.
SWA received six hundred and one entries, out of which the top six were announced today. The winning scripts are 13 Days by Sindhu Sreenivasa Murthy & Gaurav Krishna, Kashi Kothi Ka Kul by Akshay Asthana, A Dinner at Khan’s by Syed Shadan, Meiktila by Nimish Tanna, Dev Dikshit by Sandiip N Patil and Kriya Karam by Nipun Angrish & Gundeep Kaur.
The winning scripts are selected by a team of six industry players including Abhishek Chaubey, Alankrita Shrivastava, Sudip Sharma, Shakun Batra, Smita Singh and Vikramaditya Motwane.

The selection process took part in two stages. Stage one, where entries were called for SWA Script Lab on 8th September 2021. All SWA Members and non-members were eligible to participate. The participants were required to submit their bio, a writer’s statement, logline-synopsis along with the first ten pages of the Script. A total of 601 entries were received and a team of 12 readers went through in the first round of evaluation to bring them down to 61. Post which the 61 entries were re-distributed among the readers to arrive at at the shortlist of the top 30.
And in stage two the writers of these top thirty scripts were invited to submit their full length script which were then read by six readers in multiple rounds to arrive at the Top 12 and finally choose the six winners of the Script Lab 2022 after an additional tie-breaker round.
This workshop is a channel through which aspiring screenwriters can present their work to industry professionals, who are widely appreciated for their work in the field, and get valuable feedback to hone one’s skills and script.
